AVB is proud to announce that Ms. Debra Rogers, Lieutenant Commander, United States Navy as the Program Manager for our significant event. Debra is a 2012 graduate of University of Phoenix with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Global Business Management as well as 2012 graduate from Fort Hays State University with a Masters in Liberal Studies (emphasis in teaching and learning). Also, she holds a second Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration/Management from Limestone College (1994) and another Master’s degree in General Administration from Central Michigan University (1995).  Additionally, she acquired a Master Certificate in Food Service Management and a Certificate in Supervisory Studies from Cornell University, and a Subspecialty Code, 1301G-Supply Acquisition/ Distribution Management, from Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, California.

Initially, Debra enlisted in the Navy as a Mess Management Specialist in July 1988. She was later commissioned an Ensign in April 1996 from Officer Candidate School, Pensacola, Florida. Upon completion of the Supply Corps Basic Qualifications Course, Athens, Georgia in March 1997, Debra served on board the USS Seattle (AOE-3) as Disbursing and Food Service Officer. In June 1999, she was selected to the staff of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff as Officer in Charge of the Chairman’s Executive Dining Room.  Debra has also served at Naval Air Facility Washington, Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland, as the Aviation Supply Officer and Supply Officer to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion Four, Port Hueneme, California. Lastly, I served as the Midshipman Food Service Officer, United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, Maryland.  She retired from active duty on August 31, 2008.

Since retiring from active military service, she has served in various management capacities in the Federal Government and Corporate America before returning to her military roots and serving others.  Additionally, Debra served as the Senior Naval Science Instructor in the Navy Junior Reserve Officer Program (NJROTC) at Lee-Davis High School, Mechanicsville, VA (under the Troops to Teachers Program) from August 2010 to Jun 2013.  She is currently serving in the same capacity as a Senior Naval Science Instructor at Potomac Senior High School, Dumfries, VA.
